GENEROUS SUPPLIERS REFIT SURGICAL WARD

Livingstone Hospital is a large Provincial government funded hospital situated in Korsten, Port Elizabeth, South Africa. It is a tertiary hospital and forms part of the Port Elizabeth Hospital Complex. WIth Hutz Medical's continuous involved with new hospital projects as well as upgrades and through a strong affiliation with private and government hospitals, Hutz is always made aware and exposed to patients as well as the strife of the community. The company realises the importance of supporting and giving back to those in need and therefore decided to refurbish Surgical Ward 1 A at the Livingstone Hospital completely free of charge.

With the consent of the Livingstone Hospital Management Team, Hutz took possession of the ward on the 4th of September 2013 with the aim of project completion being 20 days from the starting date. The ward was sealed off and completely stripped down.  The walls were repainted, a new ceiling was installed, new bedhead units were mounted, and the furniture as well as the beds were fixed and repainted.

Hutz Medical managed the whole refurbishment and with the help of their various suppliers, who collaborated with them on this project, ensured that the end result was a success.

Hutz Medical manufactured the new bedhead units, Pathcare did a bacterial count & analysis of the ward, Superfecta powder coated the beds and cabinets, Braemar Paints supplied all the paint and surface cleaning materials whilst Ceiling Master provided the new ceiling boards.

Germstar gave a bacterial hand cleaning unit, Avitech donated an electronic nurse call system, Hospitrack supplied the ward’s bed and window curtaining and rails, Vitafoam provided the mattresses and Curtain & Linens made sure that there was enough bedding for the ward.

C & G Electrical did the electrical connections, RT Projex the gas connection, DF Enterprises cleaned and polished the floor and Atlantic Glass did the patient information boards.

The project was completed on time and the official opening was on the 26th of September 2013.

Hutz Medical believes that this project will not only add concerted value to the hospital, but will assist in the impressionable enhancement of the patient’s wellbeing and impart a sense of professionalism and caring as desired by the public.
