Most children excitedly look forward to their annual Christmas holidays, but for those who have to spend time in the hospital, it can be a pretty grim time of the year. On the 11th of December 2013, the Hutz Medical team visited the Paediatric wards of the provincial hospitals in the Nelson Mandela Metropolitan Area to try and reduce the stress a hospital visit might cause and to help maintain a sense of normality in an otherwise abnormal environment.  This was the 9th consecutive year that the company shared a little cheer to the children in the metro’s hospitals.

Their little faces started lighting up when they heard Santa’s bell in the hospital passages, followed by his helpers with trolleys full of presents, sweets and refreshments. The day's entertainment was provided by “Popsi” the clown, who folded balloons and performed a magic show to the children's amazement.

This is always a day to remember and the rewards of spending time with, and giving back to the community are invaluable.
