As a technologically advanced and durable products manufacturer, Hutz Medical has achieved status recognition as an established brand within the South African market. Using this strong resource point, it was decided to relocate Julian Hutz to France. Inside Europe we can better understand our future markets in the northern hemisphere. Julian stepped into his new role of Executive Director: Europe as of July 2014.

The result of extensive research and development, the HUGO LED medical examination light is the perfect light solution for use by medical practitioners in consultation rooms, ICU’s, normal care wards and trauma units.

Offering an operating reach of 1200mm on the HUGO-W/R/P/D (wall, rail, pole and desk clamp options), the HUGO LED ensures the illumination of the target area with easy one-handed positioning of the unit.

The ceiling mounted HUGO-C version, introduces slip-ring technology to facilitate 360° rotation that provides maximum working range over the patient area. Standard unit configurations to suit 2.4m, 2.7m and 3m ceiling heights ensure reduced lead times, while non-standard heights can be catered for on request.

Livingstone Hospital is a large Provincial government funded hospital situated in Korsten, Port Elizabeth, South Africa. It is a tertiary hospital and forms part of the Port Elizabeth Hospital Complex. WIth Hutz Medical's continuous involved with new hospital projects as well as upgrades and through a strong affiliation with private and government hospitals, Hutz is always made aware and exposed to patients as well as the strife of the community. The company realises the importance of supporting and giving back to those in need and therefore decided to refurbish Surgical Ward 1 A at the Livingstone Hospital completely free of charge.

Gertrude’s Garden Children’s Hospital in Kenya, was found in 1947 by Colonel Ewart Grogan in memory of his beloved wife Gertrude Edith. The Hospital is a charitable trust, meaning that all profits are ploughed back into the hospital. It is run by a Board of Trustees who offer their services voluntarily in the day-to-day running of the hospital.

MAKING THE HEALING PROCESS A LITTLE BIT MORE FUN

Most children excitedly look forward to their annual Christmas holidays, but for those who have to spend time in the hospital, it can be a pretty grim time of the year. On the 11th of December 2013, the Hutz Medical team visited the Paediatric wards of the provincial hospitals in the Nelson Mandela Metropolitan Area to try and reduce the stress a hospital visit might cause and to help maintain a sense of normality in an otherwise abnormal environment.  This was the 9th consecutive year that the company shared a little cheer to the children in the metro’s hospitals.
