DESIGN A PAEDIATRIC UNIT ART PIECE!

CASH PRIZES TOTALING R10 000 TO BE WON!

-      Overall Winner of the two categories - R4 500

(If won by a learner, the prize will be split R2 500 for the learner and R2 000 for the school)

-      Student Category Runner Up - R3 000

-      High School Category Runner Up and School - R2 500

(R1 500 for the learner and R1 000 for the school)

 

HOW TO ENTER:

The entry form can be downloaded from our website www.hutz.co.za or collected from our Reception at 26 Henry Ford Road in Neave.

Complete your details on the form and design a piece of art to fit our new bedhead service system that will be launched at the end of February 2018. The theme must be based on something that children would love and distract them from everything else that happens in a Paediatric hospital room.

Entries must be submitted in A3 Portrait size (297mm x 420mm). Your hand drawn/painted/electronic design should be handed in at Hutz Medical, 26 Henry Ford Road, Neave, Port Elizabeth or emailed to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. The entry box will be placed in our reception.

Entries close on the 15th of December 2017. The winners will be announced on the 26th of January 2018.

 

WHO MAY ENTER:

There will be two categories:

-          High School Learners

-          Tertiary Education Students

Any High School Learner or Tertiary Education Students residing within Nelson Mandela Bay and surroundings who do not have family members working for Hutz Medical or ECSD may enter this competition.

 

WHAT WILL THE ARTWORK BE USED FOR:

Hutz Medical is a leading manufacturer of medical equipment in Southern Africa and abroad. The artwork will be used to brand (cover) a new range of bedhead service supply systems. By branding these units, we endeavour to provide a non-threatening and cheerful display to both distract and entertain children within the ward while simultaneously disguising the much needed medical equipment.

One of these completed units will be donated to a local provincial hospital within the

Nelson Mandela Bay region.

 

TERMS & CONDITIONS

  • By entering this competition, an entrant is indicating his/her agreement to be bound by these terms and conditions. Your entry into the competition and/or your acceptance of a prize (in the event that you win a prize) constitutes your binding acceptance of the terms and conditions herewith listed;
    • Entrants under the age of 18 must obtain permission from their parents or guardians prior to entering;
  • There is no entry fee required;
  • The competition runs from the 3rd of November 2017, with entries closing on the 15th of December 2017 at 15:00;
  • No responsibility can be accepted for entries not received by Hutz Medical for whatever reason;
  • Entry forms can be downloaded from the Hutz Medical website at www.hutz.co.za, or collected from the Reception at Hutz Medical. Hutz Medical is not responsible for any injury or damage to your or any other person’s computer, mobile telephone or other device used by you to enter into, or obtain any materials related to the competition;
  • Entries must be submitted at Hutz Medical, 26 Henry Ford Road, Neave, Port Elizabeth, during work hours or emailed to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it (Mondays to Thursday 08:00 to 16:45 and Fridays 08:00 to 15:00);
  • No staff, or family members from Hutz Medical or ECSD may enter the competition;
  • The summited entry form can be hand-drawn, painted or in electronic format and only original artwork will be accepted;
  • Multiple entries will be accepted, up to a maximum of three entries per entrant, but only one design per person can be chosen as a category winner;
  • The artwork must be your own original design;
  • The winner must reside within Nelson Mandela Bay or surrounding areas;
  • The winners will be selected by Hutz Medical through a process of their sole discretion and the winners will be announced on Friday, the 26th of January 2018;
  • Winners will be notified telephonically;
  • Prizes are not transferable or substitutable;
  • If you have not claimed your prize within 30 days from the announcement of the winners, your prize will be forfeited;
  • The winning artwork, will be used for the branding of our new bedhead service systems, however this is at the discretion of Hutz Medical.
  • Entries will be considered incomplete and thus disqualified if the entrant does not provide all the requested information including name, telephone number and email address;
  • The winning artwork will be modified to suit the shape and/or design of our bedhead service systems;
  • The winner agrees to the use of his/her name and image in any publicity material, as well as their entry. Any personal data relating to the winner or any other entrants will be used solely in accordance with current South African data protection legislation and will not be disclosed to a third party without the entrant’s prior consent;
  • No additional amounts will be paid to the winners for the use of the artwork on our bedhead service systems, promotional materials, website or any other Marketing material whatsoever. The winning designs will be deemed to be the property of Hutz Medical and the winners will have no title to such property.
  • Where the winner is under the age of 18, permission from their parent or guardian will be required to be obtained before appearing in any promotional material or at the launch;
  • One bedhead service system will be donated to a local provincial hospital in Nelson Mandela Bay. The overall winner will join the Hutz and ECSD Teams for the launch.
  • The judges’ decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into;
  • The competition and these terms and conditions will be governed by South African law and any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of South Africa.

Hutz Medical and Jabulani Kingdom spread Christmas Cheer in local Paediatric Wards

One hot summer’s day each December, one Hutz employee dons a Father Christmas suit. He, accompanied by a team of fellow employees, has the privilege of spreading some Christmas cheer amongst the children of the local government hospitals in and around Port Elizabeth and Uitenhage.

SAFHE / CEASA EXHIBITION AND CONFERENCE 2015

This year’s SAFHE (South African Federation of Hospital Engineers) and CEASA (Clinical Engineering Association of South Africa) Conference and Exhibition was held in Johannesburg, at the Sandton Convention Centre.

Under the banner of “Smart Hospital – Engineering and Design” the conference ran alongside the trade exhibition from 11th –13th August 2015, with more than 50 national and international exhibitors that marketed their products and services.

NEW INSTALLATIONS: Netcare Pinehaven opens on West Rand

Hutz Medical recently had the opportunity to be part of the team that worked on one of the new additions to the Netcare Group, namely Netcare Pinehaven. The hospital, situated in Krugersdorp, on Johannesburg’s West Rand, is a new 14 000m² double-story custom-designed 100-bed facility that opened its doors at the end of September 2015. The opening of the hospital has assisted with improving the community’s access to quality private healthcare services in one of the province’s fastest growing areas.
